Students will be introduced to Trigger Points, their definition, how to identify them and how to apply massage techniques to alleviate them in their client’s muscles. The standard definition of trigger points by Travell and Simons will be used as well as Neuromuscular definitions from Leon Chaitow and the definition presented in the NAT program by Niel Asher.
Students will be taught to identify Trigger Points in their client’s muscle and how to relate the information about them in laymen’s terms for understanding by the client. Practical demonstration and application of techniques to alleviate Trigger Points will be given with time for student practice.
Some of the most common trigger points will be addressed with some of the most standard methods.
Standard table linens and oil, cream or lotion are required.
