This course focuses on the different issues massage therapists working in a spa deal with when confronted with a client who has cancer, or has had a history of cancer.  Intake forms, documentation, and the challenges of communicating with owners, managers, and front desk staff are just a few problems that can arise in a spa setting.  Current oncology massage research and information, massage indications and contraindications, radiation and chemotherapy, safety, communication skills, client and coworker education and medication guidelines are covered.  Listening skills, pressure and speed, special techniques for special issues and demonstration/practice round out this 16 hour comprehensive course designed exclusively for the therapist working in a spa or clinic.  Please bring a set of sheets, lotion/oil, and an intake form from your spa, or a sample intake form if you have one.  Please wear/bring capris or shorts, and a T shirt or tank top.
