This Standard V Ethics class will cover the importance of therapist/client communication, which is key to building and maintaining a therapeutic relationship. Topics to be covered include:
Initial contact, completing a thorough intake, discussing precautions and contraindications, honesty and integrity, importance of listening to client, reading body language, emotional release, importance of honoring client feedback on/off the table, documentation, client confidentiality, roles and boundaries, SOP, and doctor notes/communication. Lecture, class participation and interaction, and supervised role playing will round out this fun and fast-paced class.
