This evidence-informed course brings recent and relevant research to our tables. Together we expand our knowledge of the lateral fascial lines, fascia-focused techniques, explore fascial connections, anatomy, function, and dysfunction. Fascia is the fabric of our form housing the receptors of sensation and communication. We will explore its dualistic nature: it connects and separates the body structures, absorbs and distributes the load of movements, it glides and restricts. It has dimensional depth to provide structural architectural support that balances the opposing forces of compression and tension.  This balance between flexibility and tension defines our tensile integrity. Fascia deforms and reforms based on request, without prejudice. The study of fascia focused techniques is a journey of transformation and growth for both therapist and client.

 Participants will:

  • Develop an evidence-informed knowledge guiding the choice of fascia – focused therapeutic methods chosen to positively influence the soft tissues
  • Advance palpation skills mastering a kinesthetic awareness of the sensations of fascial restriction and release
  • Advance visual acuity, assessment, body reading and critical thinking skills
  • Identify patterns of function and dysfunction of the fascial meridians
  • Compare fascial meridians to correlating organ meridians
  • Isolate and treat the structures involved in dysfunctional patterns
  • Create and execute treatment strategies that enhance the tissues natural responsiveness, glide and elasticity
  • Identify the depth of restriction and skillfully apply fascia focused techniques
  • Refine body mechanics and awareness to attain depth in technique application
  • Develop strong treatment planning and practice management procedures
