This class will provide the massage therapist with more in-depth knowledge of body mechanics to achieve career longevity. Self-care for the massage therapist will be discussed along with how to use their body to give a better massage while preserving their hands and backs.
This class will address the issue of how the therapist is using their body in the practice of massage. The use of proper body mechanics and self-care can contribute to extending their careers rather than causing them pain. Learning proper body positioning helps the therapist to deliver a better massage and minimizes the stress on their bodies. In response this also creates a better experience for the client. Massage techniques and application of proper body mechanics in a massage protocol will be demonstrated and practiced.
Students should wear comfortable clothing and bring standard table linens.
