Melissa Faith-Baun, LMT, BCTMB, S4OMpp/Instructor

Melissa Faith-Baun has been practicing massage since 2001.  She returned to school after her father passed of cancer and she felt there was a piece missing in his cancer care.  The hospital where she had been employed formed a task force to look into bringing Integrative Medicine into their facility.  Melissa hopped on the task force and quickly decided that oncology massage was the right choice for her.  Since then she has been employed with two different hospital’s Ingetrative Medicine programs.  Her passion is bringing oncology massage to the forefront of integrative services and making sure it is available to as many cancer patients as possible.   Melissa is a contributing writer for the Anti-Cancer Club, regularly speaks with cancer support groups and has been a caregiver and massage therapist for far too many close friends and family members she has lost to this disease. Her mission is that everyone going through the treatment of cancer deserves no less than oncology massage therapy and other integrative services until we have a better way of treating this disease.  Melissa would like to see as many passionate hands trained as possible to carry on this work that is so important to the wellbeing of the cancer patient.  She believes it takes a village to care for anyone with cancer.  Melissa also works with many arthritis patients and their physicians exploring ways massage therapy can be used as an effective pain management technique. Melissa is Licensed and Board Certified in Therapeutic Massage, a Preferred Provider for the Society 4 Oncology Massage and a Continuing Education Provider for the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork.  She received her cancer training at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX
